Call for Papers 2009-10

Voice, the journal dedicated to critical explorations and investigative insights in Inter-disciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies, invites research papers and scripts to be submitted online. We welcome submissions from any discipline, including but not limited to English literature, language, translation, comparative & contrastive studies, film studies, management, communication, development studies, media studies, cultural studies, gender studies, queer studies, philosophy, religious studies, anthropology, sociology, history,geography, psychology, economics, political science, policing, administration, education, population studies, environment and aspects of scientific researches impacting human behavior and leading to paradigm shift. We appreciate and encourage creative writings potent enough to change the prevailing attitudes and ungrounded preconceptions and discussions instrumental in negotiating, constructing and reconstructing different nuances in challenging environments and testing times. Studies in folk lore, occult sciences, and fine arts can also be entertained for change of focus to such disciplines. Original efforts to develop cognitive, affective and spiritual dimensions necessary for successful strengthening of interdisciplinary studies will be given priority.

**Special issues for creative writings, translations, book and film reviews subject to sufficient submissions

Submissions will be evaluated in terms of research merit and their significance for more than one discipline.
Articles should be no longer than 7000 words and should be prefaced by a 150 word abstract.
Publication of the papers accepted may be shifted to further issues as per specializations.
Submissions may be accepted subject to revisions.

A cover page showing brief bio-data, complete contact address, telephone numbers, email address, institutional affiliations and two references and a photograph / jpg image of the author must accompany the submissions.

Defining Domains

Should we at all try to do so?

New Year Resolution

Does it really matter?
Should we make it on the New Year only?
Shouldn't we break it up in smaller time units?

Dilemma or Bigamy?

Can anyone suggest a better name for the tendency detested as dilemma? To me, it sometimes feels like enjoying bigamy. How is it that you are not able to come out of it? Simply, reluctance on your part. Otherwise, you must divorce one.

Forgetting, Avoidance or Ignoring?

Why do people not respond to things they come across?
Do they forget things?
Do they deliberately avoid things?
Do they tend to ignore things?
Are they self sufficient?
Do they really need to or ought to respond?
How can they be lured to respond to things?

Practicum Session Sept.4

Today, I used barrier games for teaching speaking. My objectives were to help ss interact about the similarities and differences in the given two pictures and speak 2-3 sentences showing similarities and differences. I gave one picture to one student and second to the other. One was asked to describe the details in the picture.The other responded with yes or no answers with affirmative and negative statements. They were able to spot through description 3 differences in the two pictures . Being asked to see both the pictures, they could spot all the 10 differences. Then, they came out with 3 sentences each showing dissimilarities and similarities.
My objectives were achieved. I have to reduce my anxiety or consciosness to the presence of the peer group or the observer. Some detouring in my plan might have tured me conscious.
